Step by Step Guide

Follow these instructions carefully

Surface sampling (swab)

1

Label the tube with the test location. (e.g. bathroom, living room…etc)

2

Remove the swab. DO NOT touch the swab tip or shaft.

3

Swab the suspected mould area in a crisscross pattern, rotating the swab as you go. Cover about 10 × 10 cm.

4

Put the swab back into the tube. Break the valve and squeeze all liquid into the tube.

5

Shake for 5 seconds.

6

Seal the tube and label bag with the location and date. Place it in the return mailer and send it back to us.

Air sampling (agar plate)

1

Label the base of the plate with the test location. (e.g. bathroom, living room…etc)

2

Place the plate in the area you want to test with the lid STILL ON.

3

Remove the lid only when the plate is in the correct sampling position. Do not touch the agar surface. Keep the strip of tape on the base.

4

Leave the plate exposed for at least 60 minutes. Do not touch it or pass anything over the open plate.

5

Once 60 minutes has elapsed, replace the lid carefully and use the tape to secure it.

6

Seal the plate in the zip lock bag and label the bag with location and date.
